Privacy Policy

RandomlyGo is built so that we learn as little about you as we can. The generators run in your browser, and what they give you stays there.

What you generate

  • Topics, questions, prompts, letters and sentences: picked or built in your browser. We never receive them.
  • What you type into a generator (player names in truth or dare, a question for the yes or no wheel, a noun for the sentence generator): used on the page and not sent to us.
  • History and saved items: kept in your browser's local storage on your device, not on our servers. Press Clear on a generator, or clear your browser's site data, to delete them. They don't follow you to another browser or device.
  • Share links: a link you share holds the result and the filters in its address. Anyone with the link sees the same result.

Usage statistics

We count how the site is used so we know which generators help people and what to improve.

  • Product analytics (PostHog): when it's turned on, your browser sends anonymous events such as "generated 5 topics on the debate page", "copied a result" or "started a timer". Events name the generator, the button and the settings you chose, never the text of a result or anything you typed. Each browser gets a random ID, kept in local storage for 30 days. We turn off location lookup, and the requests carry no cookies.
  • Google Analytics: when it's turned on, counts page views and the same anonymous events as above. It sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to tell visits apart, kept up to 2 years. We turn off Google signals and ad personalization, and Google Analytics doesn't log or store IP addresses.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics: counts page views and page speed without cookies.
  • Where you came from: on your first visit we note the site that sent you (its address only), any campaign tags in the link, the page you landed on, your browser's language and the time. It's kept for 90 days in local storage and in a small first-party cookie.
  • Error logs: if a page fails, our host (Cloudflare) logs the error and the page address, without the part after the question mark, so we can fix it.

Accounts and email

There are no accounts and no sign-in. If you email us, we keep your message and address to reply, and delete them when they're no longer needed.

Cookies and local storage

We use a few, all first party:

  • the first-visit cookie described above;
  • the Google Analytics cookies described above, when it's on;
  • local storage for your history, saved items, theme choice and the anonymous analytics ID.

We don't use advertising cookies. The site doesn't show ads today. If that changes, we'll update this page before any ads appear.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run the site: hosting, email and Web Analytics (Cloudflare), and analytics (PostHog and Google Analytics). We don't sell personal information.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, or for it to be deleted, at support@randomlygo.com. Analytics events carry only a random browser ID, not your name or email, so we usually can't tell which are yours. Your history and saved items never reach us, so clearing your browser removes them.
