Random questions to ask friends

Start with For friends and Funny. Everyone in the group can answer them, and the answers turn into stories.

For a game night, set How many to 5 and go around the circle. Each person answers one question and passes to the next. When a question lands, press Talking points for a follow-up. 135 questions have them.

Add Juicy once everyone is relaxed, and Deep when the group gets smaller. Want dares too? Try the truth or dare generator.

Questions for couples

For couples asks about your shared life: first dates, inside jokes, traditions and plans. Use Easy for a fun dinner and Deep for a long talk at home.

Take turns. One person reads the question, you both answer, and nobody rushes. One good question can fill an evening.

Still getting to know someone? Use Icebreakers first and Deep later, since couples questions assume a shared history. For openers sorted by situation, see our conversation starters.

Questions for kids, students and ESL classes

For kids questions use short words and playful ideas, like dragon eggs, treehouses and talking toys. They work at home, in the car or in class.

ESL questions use everyday words and simple grammar, so learners can answer in full sentences. They fit speaking warm ups and pair work. Here is a 10 minute routine:

  1. Pick ESL and Easy, and set How many to 10.
  2. Press Full screen and show the list on the projector.
  3. Students work in pairs and take turns asking and answering.
  4. Ask a few students to share their partner's best answer.

Icebreaker questions for work

For work questions keep to easy ground: work habits, favorite tools, hobbies and career advice. Mix in Icebreakers for a team with new people.

Use one at the start of a meeting. Share your screen with Full screen on, press Generate, and give each person 30 seconds to answer. For a bigger subject a team can discuss, try the random topic generator.

What are some random questions to ask friends?

Try "Who in our group has the best taste in music?", "What is a tradition our group should start?" or "If our friend group were a TV show, what would it be called?" The For friends category has more.

What are some juicy questions to ask?

Juicy questions are personal but clean, like "What is the pettiest thing you have ever done?" or "Have you ever sent a message to the wrong person?" Pick Juicy in the generator for more.

What are good questions to ask to get to know someone?

Ask about stories and choices, not facts. "What would be your perfect day from start to finish?" and "What is a risk you are glad you took?" are good starts. Use Icebreakers first and Deep later.

Can I get 20 or 50 random questions at once?

Yes. Set How many to 20 or 50 and press Generate. Copy all copies the whole list so you can paste or print it.

Are the questions okay for kids, work and class?

Yes. We write and review every question by hand. Pick For kids, For work or ESL to stick to questions made for that group. Juicy is meant for friends, so leave it off in class.

Simple, everyday ones, like "What is a popular food in your country?" or "What is a good way to make new friends?" Pick ESL and Easy for beginners and Medium for more practice.

Will I see the same question twice?

Not until you have seen them all. The generator skips questions you already drew until every question in your filters has come up. Then it starts a new round and tells you.
